Janice Dabney (B.A., English, ‘73) is a native Californian who has published her poetry in numerous journals for almost forty years. She is Poetry Editor of The Sand Hill Review and has one chapbook entitled Connections. She was an SCU staff member from 1975 to 1981 (as Honors Program Secretary and then English Department Secretary) and recently retired from SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory after nearly 30 years in various roles. 

Peter Coe Verbica (B.A., English, ‘83) lives in Santa Cruz, California.  He works in Silicon Valley as a Financial Advisor and Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor to successful families, entrepreneurs and businesses.  His passion for poetry began at Santa Clara University, when one of his early poems, an homage to ee cummings, was published in the university magazine.  He received a JD from Santa Clara University School of Law and a Master’s of Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  His most recent book of poetry, A Key to the Grove and Other Poems, received critical acclaim when it was published in 2013.   He is married and has four daughters.
