Elois Farnsworth
"Hello, I’m a Classical Languages and Literatures major from Oregon. I was drawn to Classics after being exposed to some Latin and Greek in my Ancient Philosophy classes, and decided to start Latin my sophomore year with Professor Crofton-Sleigh. Now I am in my third year of Latin and second year of Greek, and I never cease to be amazed by the magical time spent in these classes and the spirit of everyone in the department. As it is impossible to choose only one, I’d say the most distinctive and particularly memorable Classics classes I’ve taken are Greek Civilization with Professor Turkeltaub and Intermediate Latin with Professor Heath. This past summer I participated in a Summer Seminar at the American School for Classical Studies at Athens, which focused on the archaeology of Hellenistic period Greece. I am currently applying to Masters programs in Classics."
