Caren Drezner
Caren Drezner received her Doctorate in Education from Northcentral University with a specialization in Early Childhood Education. She has over 26 years of experience as a leader and advocate in Early Childhood Education; mentoring, supporting, and coaching diverse communities of teachers, directors, families, and students. She has most recently been a Lecturer at Sonoma State University, and has taught at Pacific Oaks College, as well Community Colleges around California for the last seven years. She is passionate about children's learning through play, and is dedicated to ensuring children meet developmental learning objectives using thoughtful, intentional, play and project-based strategies. Caren’s experience as a director of ECE programs and her research has led her to designing a framework for professional development programs in the field of Child Studies that build confidence in designing engaging play and project-based learning environments for children, while providing authentic experiences that support the development of important life skills. Recently she has been focused on how teachers can utilize digital tools for the purposes of authentic assessments, while staying true to project-based and constructivist strategies. In addition to her Ed.D., Caren has an active Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and a Professional Coaching Credential specializing in Education. She has been an early childhood teacher, director, professor, and coach, and enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience with new professionals in the field.
When she is not working, Caren enjoys traveling, hiking, and biking, and exploring all that northern California has to offer. She has two young adult children who keep her laughing and connected to current culture.
