Research
Katie’s research centers around theories of empire in the Andes, using textiles as an index of imperial control and resistance. She also studies Indigenous religion, focusing on both pre-Hispanic religiosity and Indigenous Catholicism in the Americas broadly. Her dissertation concentrated the Wari Empire of what is today Peru, with an expected Ph.D. completion date in September 2024.
