Michelle Bezanson: American Association of Physical Anthropologists Presidential Panel
Michelle Bezanson (Anthropology) recently was invited to serve as a panelist in the inaugural American Association of Physical Anthropologists Presidential Panel entitled “Working Together to Change the Future: A dialog on harassment in biological anthropology." Michelle is working with several other Biological Anthropologists to bring codes of conduct to field courses, abroad programs, and conference settings to make Anthropology more inclusive and, she says, "to allow all of us to focus on our science rather than the obstacles in our path." The panel discussion included effective strategies for surviving, thriving and accessing resources, how to be effective allies, and what we as academics need to do to lead to culture change. The panel presentation was described in Science and can be found here.
