Dear Colleagues —
The Career Center was thrilled to welcome new and returning students and their families to our annual Welcome Weekend Open House. The energy was high and set a great tone for what is sure to be another awesome year at Santa Clara University!
This year, the Career Center is introducing several new initiatives, including a Student-Alumni Mentorship Program, a multi-day Bay Area AI Immersion, and an A.I. Summit. We are also repeating several signature programs that we successfully piloted or-reintroduced last year, including the Career Clarity Retreat, the Possible Tech Accelerator, and On-Campus Interviews.
Please check out our calendar for more information on these and dozens of other upcoming events including our career fairs, industry meet-ups, employer coffee chats, and career development workshops.
As always, I look forward to working together to deliver on the promise of higher education for all of our students: a good job, social capital, and economic mobility in pursuit of a more humane, just and sustainable world.
Thank you,
|

This January, the Career Center, in collaboration with Campus Ministry and Counseling and Psychological Services, is hosting the second annual Career Clarity Retreat.
Career Clarity Retreat January 4-5, 2025 Vallambrosa Center, Menlo Park, CA
This two-day retreat is an opportunity for undergraduate students to build career confidence, resilience, and tolerance for ambiguity. And thanks to a one-time $10,000 grant from the Division of Mission and Ministry and an additional sizeable contribution from Campus Ministry, all expenses are covered for up to 26 students!
Student applications will open on Tuesday, October 15 (Week 4). If you know of specific students who would benefit from participating in this retreat, please encourage them to apply. More details to come!

Four-Day Bay Area AI Immersion Planned for March 2025
We are thrilled to announce our first-ever multi-day Bay Area AI Immersion focused on helping students deepen their understanding of AI and the emerging tech industry through company visits, networking events, and industry panels.
Bay Area AI Immersion March 24-27, 2025 (Spring Break)
Over the course of four days, participating students will have the opportunity to go behind the scenes of companies like Adobe, Google, Handshake, Okta, and more!
This immersion—the first in what we expect to be an ongoing series of national and global "industry immersions"—is made possible by a $15,000 grant from the Santa Clara University Board of Regents, to whom we are very grateful.
Student applications open on Wednesday, October 9 (Week 3). The application period will remain open until all 20 spots are filled. We expect significant student interest in this unique immersion opportunity, so please encourage students to submit their application quickly.
Questions about the Bay Area AI Immersion? Email Colleen Withers, Director of Career Development and Campus Integration, at cwithers@scu.edu.

Do You Know Your Type? Take a Free MBTI Assessment!
The Career Center has 16 MBTI Profile assessments and 11 Strong Interest Inventory (SII) assessments that we are giving away for free. (Combined, these assessments cost $40.00 per person.)
Request access to your free MBTI and/or SII assessment by emailing Dylan Houle at dhoule@scu.edu.
This offer is limited to the first 30 people who respond to this email! (And managers, these are great assessments to complete with your team!)
Why are we doing this? Last year, the Career Center transitioned to Focus2Career, a much more cost competitive vendor that offers high-quality career and personality assessments similar to the MBTI and SII.
Please help us empty our inventory from our previous vendor before our subscription expires on October 17.
