Dear Colleagues —
As you know, the Career Center has three strategic pillars: Predict, Intrude and Introduce. I'm pleased to share an example of the progress we've made on the second pillar, Intrude.
77% Increase in VMock Activations
VMock is an A.I. powered resume review tool available to students for free through the Career Center. At the start of this quarter, we introduced several "soft intrusion" strategies to increase the number of student sign-ups.
First, we enabled "document feedback" on Handshake so that we could review and comment on resumes as they were uploaded by students, reminding them to use VMock before attaching the resume to any job applications.
Second, we added a "pre-appointment survey" in Handshake so that when students scheduled an appointment to review their resume, they were prompted to answer whether or not they had used VMock before.
These two "soft intrustion" strategies—combined with us better highlighting VMock during orientation and offering three VMock Resume Labs throughout the quarter—led to a 77% increase in the number of students who signed-up this fall compared to last fall. We're excited to build on this momentum going forward.
As always, I am excited to work together to deliver on the promise of higher education for all of our students: a good job, social capital, and economic mobility in pursuit of a more humane, just and sustainable world.
Thank you,
|
