Dear Colleagues —
On Tuesday, February 13, the Career Center hosted the 7th Annual Diversity Works Expo & Awards—the most successful one yet!
A record-breaking 211 students came out to celebrate the student awardees and learn from and network with more than 50 employer representatives from a diverse range of inclusive companies including event sponsors Enterprise Mobility and ServiceNow.
"I really enjoyed meeting with many different SCU students from the undergrad and grad level who I have not met before. Hearing about their perspectives of diversity and experiences definitely helped me see the impact inclusivity has been making or has the potential to make on everyone."
"The event was very well run! I appreciated the opportunity to hear from the student award winners as well as other employers on the panel. We had very engaging round table discussions and it was great to connect with students at the reverse career fair afterwards."
"This event felt more organized than previous years. As a staff member, I left the panel with lots of insights that I found personally helpful."
Congratulations to event organizers Amanuel Bizuneh, Andrew Gupton, and Britannia Gillanders, event MC Melissa Thiriez, and the entire Career Center team for producing a wonderful evening. Thank you also to Tanvi Syed '24 , Director of the Multicultural Center, for introducing our award winners, photographer Jim Gensheimer, our Facilities team for set-up and breakdown, and Bon Appétit for catering.
As always, I am excited to work together to deliver on the promise of higher education for all of our students: a good job, social capital, and economic mobility in pursuit of a more humane, just and sustainable world.
Thank you,
|

A Bright Future for Bronco Exchange
With more than 6,000 active users, and more joining every week, Bronco Exchange is Santa Clara's campus-wide solution for mentorship, networking, and community-building at scale. With mentorship and student-alumni connections surfacing as key elements of the university's new strategic plan, we are more excited than ever about the future of Bronco Exchange.
Two weeks ago, you may have received an email from the Office of Undergraduate Admission with an update that the "admissions hub" of Bronco Exchange will sunset at the end of April. The decision to sunset the admission hub will have no impact on the student and alumni connections hub, which is where students connect with alumni, faculty, staff, and friends of the university.
The Career Center and Alumni Office have been working closely with the Office of Undergraduate Admission, Office of Student Life, and with PeopleGrove (the company that powers Bronco Exchange) to ensure a seamless transition.
Two Exciting Updates on Bronco Exchange
- Handshake integration - Job and internship postings are now imported directly from Handshake. When users view job postings in Bronco Exchange, they can easily see alumni who are associated with that company.
- Events - Platform admins can now add events and users can register for events directly in Bronco Exchange.

Career Center Presents to 600+ People During Family Weekend
The Career Center attracted large crowds at Family Weekend, presenting to an estimated 600+ people across our three internship and job search strategy presentations (one for each school/college).
Also throughout the weekend, we welcomed a steady stream of families into the Career Center to share more about how we support their students, met with parents and families at the President's Luncheon, and presented to the Board of Regents.

26 Santa Clara Students Complete Possible Winter Cohort
Twenty-six students recently completed the 5-week tech accelerator winter cohort powered by Possible. They participated alongside 24 students from Seattle University, creating a powerful networking opportunity between not only two Jesuit institutions but also two West Coast tech hubs.
