RMI New York Trip

RMI New York Trip

rmi recap
The Retail Management Institute took 34 students in the Retail Studies Program to attend the National Retail Federation (NRF) Conference in New York City, NY. The conference hosted a wide range of speakers who have influence in the retail industry, including the CEO of Uniqlo, the CEO & Co-founder of Studs, the Senior Talent Manager for Nordstrom, among other retail professionals in executive roles. Our students also had the opportunity to take part in a mentorship program where they each spoke to six industry professionals to whom they were able to ask all of their burning questions about the retail industry and the paths the mentors each took to get to where they are today.

Outside of the conference, our students had the unique opportunity to tour various flagship stores and speak with executives from brands. The students toured Apple, Tiffany & Co., Nordstrom, Google, and Louis Vuitton, which allowed them to translate the concepts from our Retail Studies curriculum to these five iconic retailers with brick-and-mortar flagships in NYC.

Our students were also invited to attend a social with some of our NYC-based alumni, who shared valuable insights on applying for jobs, living in the city, and advice for our soon-to-be graduates. We want to extend a huge thank you to Sydney Olson, Grace Mathews, Berkley Stenson, Marielle Casey, Lucy Robbins, and Kennedy Brown for taking the time out of their week to meet with our students and share how the Retail Management Institute helped them in furthering their careers!
