What are you doing this summer? This summer I was a Jean Donovan Fellow working with the tUrn Project at SCU as well as Our City Forest in San Jose. For tUrn, I researched resources about different aspects of the climate crisis and contributed to some design and communications projects. For Our City Forest, I created presentation and outreach materials about their climate justice initiative that plants free trees in underserved census tracts.

 

What has been the most memorable part of your experience? It was really rewarding to be able to work with two different organizations both addressing climate injustice. I loved working with tUrn because of the community of other students at SCU that are passionate about these issues, and I got to explore a variety of perspectives in my research. I learned so much with Our City Forest as well and enjoyed getting to contribute to a nonprofit that is directly confronting local justice issues.
