The Santa Clara Investment Fund (SCIF) manages a portion of Santa Clara University’s endowment funds, while helping our members build strong connections and achieve their competitive career goals.

I joined SCIF because I wanted to be in an environment where I was surrounded by like-minded and driven individuals. SCIF was pivotal for me in providing me with the resources and network I needed to be successful in the internship search. SCIF's strong mentorship culture is what allowed me to build relationships with a few members who were vital to my success in recruiting for investment banking.
As Chief Investment Officer, it is enriching to oversee our investment process and make decisions on real money - this is an experience unique to SCIF. The most rewarding part about helping lead SCIF is the opportunity to mentor newer members. Historically, SCU has had a very small representation in the high finance world, but SCIF is changing that year by year. Being able to help shape the next generation of Santa Clara alumni who will go on to do big things in the industry is an honor and a privilege.
The Santa Clara Investment Banking Club’s goal is to assist Santa Clara students to land jobs in Investment Banking, an industry that is both prestigious and notoriously hard to break into. The club helps students to prepare to be successful in challenging interviews through weekly interview prep and instructional meetings.
I joined the IB club because I wanted to find out if IB was the right path for me. Not only did the club help me decide I wanted to pursue the industry, but it provided me with some of the technical preparation that is table stakes for investment banking recruiting. Given how secretive the industry is, information on how to position yourself well for recruiting is not easy to find, but the IB club helped me close that information gap.
I enjoy getting a hands-on role to help interested students break into investment banking. SCU's presence in the IB industry is small, but our club is helping to grow that number. It is super important for students interested in this industry to have mentors who went through what they did - being that person for underclassmen is the best part about leading the IB club.
