Areas of Interest at SCU and LSB: I'm a Leavey Ambassador, connecting with prospective students and families to help them learn more about SCU & our programs and people. I'm also a a mentor for the Women in Business Club, where I get to assist underclassmen in any SCU - related questions they might have. I am also on the executive board as the VP: Communications for my sorority, where I get to assist in leading a group of 170 women.
What are your SCU and LSB activities/general hobbies: Along with my academic and professional pursuits, I am passionate about physical and mental health. I ran my first marathon in 2023 and am already planning my next one (or two or three!) I love to cook - so much so that I attended culinary school in France during summer 2023. Being in France for three months at culinary school was a truly life-changing experience that I will cherish forever.
What internship/employment opportunities have you taken advantage of at LSB? I have had five internships thus far which has been extremely insightful and rewarding. I completed two when I was in high school which allowed me to better understand what I would like to focus my studies on. My freshman/sophomore year, I worked for Revelry Group, which is a B2B foodservice marketing agency. I got to work with a few of the world's top food brands and learned more about marketing from a B2B standpoint. I am currently completing an internship as a Program Assistant for the Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship which is on campus here at SCU. The Miller center focuses on accelerating social entrepreneurship to end global poverty, and I have really enjoyed working for them and learning as much as I can! I interned at ServiceNow during the summer of 2024, where I was a Field Marketing intern. I learned about this internship at the Women in Business career fair, and reached out to a variety of SCU alums to assist me throughout the process. I will always be grateful for the support of the Bronco Network!
Favorite LSB Class and Why? My favorite LSB class was Business Law with Professor Dana. This class was exceptionally challenging as 100% of the content was new to me - but it was also extremely applicable to what I was reading in the news and other cases I have heard about. Prof Dana is an incredible teacher who is passionate and determined to see his students succeed, so despite the challenging nature of the class, I was still excited to show up every day and learn something new.
What made you choose to attend LSB? Coming from Sun Valley, a small ski resort town in Idaho, I knew that I wanted a more personal learning experience, as my high school was comprised of just 40 students. Santa Clara's high caliber faculty, location, small class sizes, and network were all extremely appealing to me. However, what truly sealed the deal was the supportive community at SCU. When I visited, I got to meet a few current Broncos and without a doubt the #1 thing all of them spoke so highly of was the community at SCU. This included the supportive faculty, uplifting students, and a general good energy (as cheesy as it might sound).
What advice you wish you had while applying to college? My favorite advice to give to high school students is to disregard two things: 1. acceptance rates and 2. what your friends are doing. It can be SO easy to get caught up in where your friends are going, who's going to the lowest acceptance rate school, and that sort of thing. However those things are so menial once you actually get to college, that it's worth focusing on YOU. What do YOU want, where do YOU want to be, what programs interest YOU. Once you choose a school based on your interests and needs (rather than what others are saying), you will feel much more at home!
