Zach McCarthy, Bronco Web Development
My name is Zach McCarthy and I am currently a sophomore studying Business Management here at Santa Clara University. I want to share my experience in my Management 80 International Business class with Long Le. Long Le runs the Zero Interest Microfinance Bank for Santa Clara and works with his Management 80 students to fund the program by creating and implementing business plans and products on campus. Long Le decided to pair with the Global Fellows program that Santa Clara also runs in order to oversee the microfinance loans in underdeveloped countries. Students practically run the entire organization and oversee each process of the microfinance lending. In Long Le’s class my group has decided to create a web development company called Bronco Web Development. We are currently searching for clients to create websites for at discounted costs in order to raise money for the microfinance organization. I am particular excited about the company as I have no prior experience with web development, but I will be able to learn a little bit about coding and making proposals for actual businesses. We recently found our first client. They are a property management company in the Bay Area looking for an update to their website. We proposed an entirely new template for their company website that will be able to update the changes in apartment pricing daily. This class has given me insight into working in a collaborative group that is focused on creating an actual business product. I am thankful for the real-world business experience this class is giving me and I am excited to continue with the project throughout the quarter.
