Marina Menendez, All about Finance

This past quarter was filled with so many new experiences both in and out of the classroom. In comparison with my freshman year, this year’s fall quarter really flew by.

This past quarter was filled with so many new experiences both in and out of the classroom. In comparison with my freshman year, this year’s fall quarter really flew by. That being said, this year I feel like I have been able to not only further my learning in the classroom, but also professionally. Through a business club that I am a part of on campus I got an invitation to attend a Finance conference in San Francisco where several professionals, all in different fields within Finance, would be sharing their career paths and experiences. Being a Finance major I saw this as a perfect opportunity to hone in on what aspect of Finance is most appealing to me. After attending the conference I not only made connections with other students from different universities but also with some of the professionals who had come to speak. I now feel that Private Wealth Management is what is most interesting to me and I have taken that into account when applying for internships. Overall, opportunities like these are what I believe students like me, who need further engagement with their chosen major outside the classroom, should take advantage of.
