OMIS Ranked Top 20 in the Nation
Santa Clara University’s Management Information Systems (MIS) major was recently recognized by U.S. News and World Report and College Factual. The major, housed in the Leavey School of Business’ Operations Management and Information Systems (OMIS) department, was ranked No. 4 for highest paid MIS graduates and No. 12 for top MIS colleges in the United States by College Factual, and came in at No. 16 nationally (No. 1 in California) for best undergraduate MIS program by U.S. News and World Report.
“We aim to position students at the forefront of the industry and prepare them for success in their careers,” said Haibing Lu, OMIS department co-chair. “Our faculty, rich in industry experience and interdisciplinary expertise, do an excellent job in this. Their research and teaching really help to elevate the caliber of our graduates. We are very proud of the success of our program.”
This year, the Leavey School of Business was ranked No. 10 in Money Magazine’s Best Colleges for Business Majors rankings, came in at No. 2 in California and No. 16 nationally in the Best Undergraduate Business Schools by Poets&Quants for Undergrads, and ranked No. 64 nationally according to the 2018 U.S. News and World Report Best Colleges rankings.
Santa Clara University came in at No. 2 Regional University in the West, earning an overall score of 99 out of 100. The University was also ranked No. 1 in Best Colleges for Veterans, and No. 14 in Best Value Schools by U.S. News and World Report.
Operations Management and Information Systems (OMIS) is an interdisciplinary department that considers how technology can facilitate business decisions to guide organizations to success. The program connects students with faculty who have experience founding and managing companies, whose expertise spans both engineering and management, and who are presently advancing the field through their research.
