Celebrating Impact at LSB

Three business school staff members received this year’s Leavey Staff Awards for the contributions they have made to the business school community.

Three business school staff members received this year’s Leavey Staff Awards for the contributions they have made to the business school community.

These annual awards are given to staff members that best illustrate the business school’s highest ideals and aspirations, and who reflect the shared commitment to the school’s strategic priorities.

“I could not be more proud of the great work that our staff does for the School and for our students,” said Caryn Beck-Dudley, dean of the Leavey School of Business, at the annual staff appreciation lunch where these awards were presented. “Their contributions to our goals of building a rich academic foundation and transformative learning experience, and creating strong partnerships with the business community and our alumni are integral to our success.”

The Administrative Impact Award

Kristin Perrin
Director of Finance and Administration, Executive Development Center

This award is presented to the staff member who has demonstrated the most significant impact in support of the Leavey School of Business’ mission to educate the next generation of business leaders.

Kristin’s contribution to the Executive Development Center, and more specifically the Certificate of Advanced Accounting Proficiency (CAAP) program, combined both administrative excellence and student service.  She handled everything from admissions into the CAAP program to managing the CAAP alumni, before transitioning to her new role as director of finance and administration.  In addition to her day to day work, Kristin has represented the Leavey School of Business on the staff senate, with this being her last term.

The Collaboration Award

Ali Reimer
Digital Content Manager, Business School Marketing and Communications

This award is presented to the staff member who exemplifies the spirit of working together in cooperative pursuit of the mission of the University and of the Leavey School of Business.

Ali’s ability to work with anyone – and put them at ease – especially during the recent website conversion process, undoubtedly contributed to the success of the school’s new website.

“Ali is a dream collaborator,” wrote a fellow staff member who nominated Ali. “She is at ease with any group she's working with: faculty, alumni, and staff, because she is positive and engaged. She responds to ideas thoughtfully, without arrogance (she's an SCU alum, after all), and invites others to respond in the same way.”

The Student Experience Award

Channing McCabe
Senior Administrative Assistant, Operations Management and Information Systems (OMIS) department

Senior Administrative Assistant Channing McCabe Head Shot

This award is presented to the person whose efforts have enhanced the learning experience for our students at any level, undergraduate, graduate, or executive.

In her official duties as the OMIS Department's administrative assistant Channing supports more degree programs than any other department administrator.  Consequently, she is the face of the department in interacting with many different populations of students, prospective students, alumni, and parents – and she does it all with a smile.  Beyond her official duties, Channing also works closely with the OMIS student organizations – such as the OMIS Student Network and the BroncoHack team – to ensure their success.

One of Channing’s nominations said, “Channing is an inspiration and sets an excellent example for all students by carrying a heavy work load yet always being available; addressing issues with speed and compassion; and being an expert in many areas with an endlessly positive outlook. Channing adds so much to the student experience every day and is very deserving of this special recognition.”

Congratulations to these extraordinary staff members for their dedication and the impact they have on the Leavey School of Business.
