Santa Clara University Named a #14 Top Online MBA Program by The Princeton Review
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (December 9, 2020)
Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business offers one of the nation's most outstanding online MBA programs, earning the 14th spot on the annual rankings from The Princeton Review. Compared to last year’s No. 25 ranking, SCU jumps 11 spots to land within the top 15 programs on the education services company’s Top 50 Online MBA Programs for 2021 list.
The list, which is the company's 6th annual ranking of online MBA programs, and a part of The Princeton Review's Best Business Schools for 2021 project, is based on institutional data, including career outcomes, admissions selectivity, and academic rigor, among others. This newest ranking comes on the heels of last month’s No. 10 Online MBA Program ranking from Poets&Quants.
“We are extremely proud, not just of this top 15 ranking, but of the admissions and student satisfaction data that informs these rankings,” Senior Assistant Dean of Graduate Business Programs, Toby McChesney said. “In the three years since launching the Online MBA program, our Graduate Business Programs teams have worked hard to recruit high-caliber students for the program, and continues to provide consistent and personalized career support throughout their time at SCU and beyond, as alumni.”
Building upon the rigor and relevance of Santa Clara’s Evening MBA curriculum, ranked No. 25 by U.S. News & World Report, the Leavey School of Business launched its Online MBA program in January 2018 and currently has 225 Online MBA students across eight states.
“This jump of 11 spots is yet another notch in the belt for our growing Online MBA program, and embodies the Leavey School of Business’s commitment to collaborative learning and original, rigorous, and impactful scholarship,” Interim Dean, Naren Agrawal said. “Through these pursuits, we develop principled and creative leaders who transform people, organizations, industries, and society for the common good.”
The Princeton Review chose the 50 online MBA programs and tallied its ranking list based on data from the company's 2019-20 surveys of administrators at more than 125 business schools offering online MBAs. The company also factored in data from its 2019-20 surveys of more than 6,000 students enrolled in online MBA programs. More than 60 data points were weighted to determine the list and rankings. The criteria focused on five core areas: academics, selectivity, faculty, technical platforms, and career outcomes.
"We strongly recommend Santa Clara University as an outstanding choice for anyone aspiring to earn an MBA online," said Rob Franek, editor-in-chief of The Princeton Review. Franek added, "Santa Clara University's program is exceptionally strong academically, and it maximizes technology that enables students to interact with and learn from faculty and students all over the world."
