Robert Hendershott, Leavey School of Business associate professor of finance, was featured on a Marketplace segment discussing the different characteristics that have historically caused American banks to fail. The discussion addressed the history of the United States banking system where banks were once “too small to thrive” and are now “too big to fail.” Hendershott touched on the pitfalls of having too many small banks and the consequences that caused historically.
