Meir Statman : Special needs financial advice : CISION
Meir Statman, Glenn Klimek Professor of Finance, addresses how financial advice is explained in “Your legacy of Care” by Loring Ward, a new book for parents with children of special needs seeking financial guidance. Statman is part of Loring Ward’s Investment Committee. In an article from CISION, he expresses his support for the book by stating that it takes into consideration how special needs parents need to support their children throughout their lives not solely through college like most other financial plans consider.
An excerpt from the article:
According to Meir Statman, Glenn Klimek Professor of Finance at Santa Clara University and a member of Loring Ward’s Investment Committee, “Typical financial advice is centered on parents who support children through college but no longer. Yet children with disabilities need support long after their parents are gone. Donald Bailey and William Chettle provide an excellent guide to plans that assure such children of support throughout their lives.”
