Hersh Shefrin, Mario L. Belotti Professor of Finance and and expert in the field of behavioral finance, was quoted in USA Today, the Herald Times of Bloomington, Indiana and 14 other outlets discussing best saving practices in the current bull market. The new field of behavioral financial science looks at the relationship between investor psychology, the decisions people make regarding their money, and what human characteristics influence this decision making. Among four other key investing mistakes, Professor Shefrin advises against assuming the economic climate will continue on its current path.
"It's good to remember that crashes mostly come out of nowhere," he says, citing crashes in 1929 and 1987.
