Alumna Andrea Borgen : Restaurateur Focused on No-Tipping and Growth : Eater
Business School alumna Andrea Borgen ‘10 was featured in Eater regarding her new restaurant Barcito in Los Angeles. Borgen takes a different approach to the restaurant industry with a strict no-tipping policy and no plate priced over $16. She is more focused on being a part of the community and creating a welcoming environment not only for the customers but her employees as well.
Borgen plans to expand Barcito, whether it is with multiple locations or a diverse collection of restaurants all similar with a no-tipping policy. She states, “I would love to be in different urban markets throughout the US" and “at the core, what's most important to me is the idea that a restaurant is a pillar of the community, the kind of place where you can come once a week and feel really good about it.”
