Jennifer Lynn Woolley is Professor of Management and Entrepreneurship at Santa Clara University. Her research and teaching focus on entrepreneurship, innovation, and the emergence of firms, industries, and technologies. Her recent work examines the relationship between founding teams, intellectual property, public policy, and firm outcomes. Dr. Woolley's research has been published in the Academy of Management Discoveries, Organization Science, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, Journal of Business Venturing, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Journal of Product Innovation Management, and Advances in International Management Research Series. She has presented her work at many conferences including the Academy of Management, Strategic Management Society, DRUID, and Corporate Social Responsibility Americas conference. She is also an editorial board member of the Oxford Research Encyclopedia of Business and Management.

Woolley also participated in the creation of the California Program for Entrepreneurship at Santa Clara University, an intensive training program for non-matriculating entrepreneurs. She teaches in the areas of entrepreneurship and innovation. Her consulting work focuses on helping entrepreneurs bring ideas to fruition. 

Among the awards, she has received are The EGOS Best Paper Award, The Heizer Award for Outstanding Research, Research Promise Award (AOM-IDEA Awards), Booz-Allen Hamilton/Strategic Management Society Ph.D. Fellowship Award, the Ray Watson Doctoral Fellowship, a Kauffman Foundation Fellowship, and the Regents Fellowship at UCI. She earned her doctorate at the University of California, Irvine. Before returning to academia, Professor Woolley worked as a financial consultant and analyst with Ericsson Wireless, Ashley Kumar & Company, and Westhold Corporation. Before returning to academia, Professor Woolley worked in banking and international finance.
