Andy El-Zayaty
Andy El-Zayaty is an Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship at Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business. He received his Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship & Strategy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Wisconsin School of Business. Prior to academia, he spent several years as a consultant with Deloitte.
Dr. El-Zayaty’s research focuses primarily on entrepreneurial founding teams and the skillsets that allow them to attract funding from venture capitalists, angel investors, and crowdfunders. He is especially interested in the language used by entrepreneurs, and how different facets of that language can impact firm-level outcomes. In an alternate stream of research, he also explores the strategic impact of patents and patent litigation on firms’ performance and innovative activities.
