Nitin Barve

Nitin M. Barve, CFA joined Santa Clara University as a lecturer in 2014 and since then, has taught various courses in Derivatives, Applied Portfolio Management, Investments, and Risk Management areas.
Nitin has more than 30 years of experience as an executive, a researcher, an academic, and an entrepreneur in the financial services industry. Nitin has worked with several large global financial services firms such as Citibank, Wells Fargo, and Charles Schwab and has also successfully led and mentored a large number of teams and has directed complex initiatives working with global teams across the US, Luxembourg, Bermuda, and India. Nitin leverages his well-rounded expertise to guide and mentor his students by providing them with valuable practical insights as they embark on their careers in the Investment Industry. 

 

Nitin has published articles on topics ranging from derivatives and FinTech to Risk Management and Portfolio Management. Nitin has been a panelist and a speaker at many industry events over the last 15 years where he enthusiastically shares his knowledge and expertise with industry peers, younger professionals, and students. 

Nitin has taught more than 100 courses for the CFA Review Program sponsored by the CFA San Francisco and has taught graduate-level Financial Engineering courses at Saint Mary’s College in California. Nitin is a CFA Charter holder and holds an MS from the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai, and a BS from the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai.
