The Accounting Senior Administrative Assistant, MJ Ching, works in Lucas Hall on the second floor. She manages all the administrative tasks for the department, such as class registration, faculty correspondence, and student TA and RA hours. MJ also manages the student assistants for the department. The Accounting Department has 3 student assistants who work a combined 20 hours a week. The student assistants help out with all kinds of work, such as this Newsletter, mail, printing, and many other administrative tasks.

The following includes bios for MJ and each of the student assistants.

MJ CHING, Senior Administrative Assistant (middle in the picture)

MJ Ching joined Santa Clara University in March 2019 as the Senior Administrative Assistant for the Department of Accounting. She is an alumna of the University of Southern California (Fight On, Trojans!), where she graduated with an undergraduate degree in International Relations. Prior to joining SCU, she worked at Loyola Marymount University.

MJ and her husband moved to the Bay Area from Los Angeles in 2018. During her free time, she enjoys traveling and watching the Dodgers dominate in baseball, as well as cheering on the USC football team. 

ALANA RAINOSEK, Student Assistant (right in the picture)  

Alana Rainosek is a 3rd year Accounting and Information Systems major at SCU. Alana has been working with the department as a Student Assistant since May 2018. Alana had the opportunity to have an internship this past summer (Summer 2019) with Deloitte in Denver called the Discovery Internship Program that targets rising juniors. This internship allowed her to work as an intern in two different service lines: Tax and Risk and Financial Advisory. After completion of the Discovery Program, Alana was offered and has accepted an internship offer with Deloitte for Summer 2020 as a Tax intern.

Additionally, Alana is involved in other organizations on campus. Alana has been a Community Facilitator in one of the Residence Halls on campus for 2 years. She is also involved in Alpha Kappa Psi, which is one of the professional business fraternities on campus. Alana enjoys reading and spending time with her family in her free time.

JENNIFER CHE, Student Assistant (left in the picture)

Jennifer is a junior majoring in Accounting and Information Systems and minoring in International Business. She has been working with the department as Student Assistant since September 2018. In the past, she has worked as a business operations intern at an education tech company and as an accounting intern at a financial consulting firm. After attending multiple externship programs, Jennifer accepted an internship offer with PwC for Summer 2020 as a Capital Market & Accounting Advisory intern.

Jennifer is a member of the Accelerated Cooperative Education (ACE) Leadership Program in the business school. She also serves as the Vice President for Microfinance club and as VP Finance for Santa Clara Consulting. Aside from the business field, she is passionate to explore different cultural values. She is a native speaker of Mandarin and has studied Japanese and Spanish for four years. In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis, hanging out with friends, exploring new restaurants and tasty boba places.
