James Lynch
James Lynch returns as a member of the Accounting Advisory Board in Fall 2017. Jim received his bachelor’s degree from SCU in 1983. He has been the CFO and Treasurer of SJW Corp since 2010, responsible for all facets of accounting, tax, treasury, and investor relations functions of the corporation. Before joining SJW Group, Jim was an audit partner of KPMG for fourteen years. At KPMG, he was responsible for managing Board and “C” level business relationships with companies in KPMG’s Consumer Markets and Information, Communications, and Entertainment Practices. Currently, Jim is the chairman of California Water Association Board Finance and Accounting Committee as well as an Executive Committee Board member of Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce. He was the president of the SCU Accounting Advisory Board for many years.
Kim McCormick
Kim brings 30 years of experience working with all types of public sector organizations including higher education, cultural arts and museums, international relief organizations, environmental advocacy organizations, private foundations, cities, transit districts, employee benefit plans, school districts and other FASB and GASB-reporting entities, many of which require an annual audit under Uniform Guidance. Kim’s attention is fully dedicated to serving the public sector and she leads the Greater Bay Area office’s public sector and not-for-profit industry group. Kim has experience working both as a member of the Firm’s National Professional Standards Group and as a line audit partner giving her both a technical/ quality focus and with significant practical, in- the- trenches experience conducting audits.
Jeff Nishita
Jeff Nishita is a partner in the San Francisco office of Novogradac & Company LLP. Mr. Nishita provides various services in the real estate industry, including audit and tax services, consulting, forecasting, LIHTC and tax exempt bond application assistance and training. He is experienced with HUD, A-133, and various state audit requirements. In addition, he is in charge of maintaining the firm’s Financial Forecast Model. He works with for-profit and nonprofit developers, syndicators and direct investors. He is the founder of the firm’s LIHTC Working Group and community service program and has served on the Housing Colorado NOW! Conference Committee since 2013. Before joining Novogradac, Mr. Nishita worked with start-up companies and small businesses in executive positions. He received an M.B.A. with honors from Santa Clara University and a degree in economics concentrating in accounting from UC Santa Barbara. He is licensed as a C.P.A. in California and Colorado.
