2023 Meet the Firms
We extend our thanks and appreciation to the firms that attended our 42nd annual Meet the Firms Night (MTF) on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 from 2:00-5:00pm in SCU's Mission Gardens, and to the officers of the SCU Accounting Association (SCUAA) who organized and managed the event. This year's MTF included representatives from 27 firms (the same number of firms as the previous year) and over 90 students.
Several SCU alumni returned to campus with their firms to reconnect and share the many opportunities available to students. Overall, the firms welcomed the outdoor venue and reported that students were well prepared. The firms that attended MTF are listed below:

Undergraduate and CAAP students interested in accounting and A&IS opportunities, that have not yet accepted accounting internships or full-time positions, were invited to attend the event. To help students prepare for MTF, the SCUAA organized a Pre-MTF workshop the Thursday before the event. Over 45 students attended this workshop where Accounting Association officers, and professionals from KPMG and Moss Adams presented helpful information on attire, conduct, conversation topics, and resume content. A Q&A session followed and many students stayed after to converse with Cheyenne Mullins (KPMG), Joey Diaz (Moss Adams), and Noel Kreidler (Assistant Director - Career Development Specialist, Business & Entrepreneurship, Career Center).
Over 90 students attended the 2023 MTF, with 77 students completing a check-in form upon arrival. This event served a record number of students. Students overall enjoyed the outdoor venue and the variety of firms that attended. The passport program encouraged students to visit with firms of all sizes and many students interacted with more than 6 firms. Daisy Halaszyn (A&IS, Class of 2025) was the Passport Program raffle winner and the proud owner of new Apple Airpods.
This is the third consecutive year that MTF was held outdoors at SCU. Feedback from this year was overall positive from both firm professionals and students, with the primary complaint being the sun exposure. For this reason, and as weather patterns become less predictable, Meet the Firms will likely be held indoors next year.
A big thank you to the SCUAA officers for a job well done, and for being available to firm representatives at MTF: Noah Chak-President, Megan House-Firm Relations, Sydney Yuen-Treasurer, Belle Yei-Events Officer\Photographer, and Junior Officers Mark Aquilio, Jessica Pu, John Marrack, Maia Murphy, and Brendan Arias for assistance with setup and logistics.
