Caryn Beck-Dudley is the seventh dean of the Leavey School of Business and the first woman to lead the school.
Beck-Dudley arrives from Florida State University, where she was dean of the College of Business for nine years. She developed a compelling strategic plan, expanded entrepreneurship, began an analytics program, established novel programs for veterans, and led an ambitious fund-raising campaign for a new building. Previously she was dean of Utah State University’s College of Business for four years and a visiting professor in the business schools at the University of Georgia and the University of Michigan. Prior to joining academia, she was an attorney in commercial and corporate law with Van Cott, Bagley,Cornwall & McCarthy.

The fact that the Leavey School is located in Silicon Valley ensures innovation and creativity will continue at the forefront as we forge a new era in business education.”
Beck-Dudley graduated magna cum laude from Utah State University in political science and received her J.D. from the University of Idaho College of Law. An active volunteer on academic councils and in the community, she established the Sunshine State Ethics in Leadership Award, the only one of its kind in the state of Florida. Her commitment to ethical leadership and her background in business and law make her the right choice to lead the Leavey School of Business into an exciting period of interdisciplinary collaboration.
