Albert “Snooch” Santucci was man in charge of the offense in the early 1940’s. Snooch was the foundation to the feared Santa Clara offensive line as the center. However, His impact was not limited to the offensive line, as his array of talents also awarded him other positions including fullback, kicker, and punter. Santucci was selected as an All-American for his bruising style of play, and versatility. After SCU, he was drafted by the Chicago Bears, but fulfilled his prior commitment to ROTC by serving in the Armed Forces for the United States.
