While at Santa Clara, Ralph had the rare opportunity to play basketball with his brother, Bud. For the two seasons with both Ogden brothers on the court, the Broncos were able to secure the Pac-8 Championship and reach the West Regional game of the NCAA Tournament. In 1970 Ralph was drafted by his hometown team, the San Francisco Warriors, in the 4th round. After a season with the Warriors, Ralph played and then coached professional basketball in Germany for more than 30 years.
