Gene Nagler was a star studded end for the Broncos. His senior season he captioned Santa Clara’s team. After, Nagler played 10 years in the NFL. He spent his rookie season and first years in the league with the Chicago Cardinals (1953-1958). He then moved to Pittsburgh and played with the Steelers for a season (1959) before ending his career with the Cleveland Browns (1960-1961). During his professional football career, Nagler caught for 3,119 yards, scored 28 touchdowns, and was invited to the Pro Bowl. He was inducted into the Santa Clara Hall of Fame in 1987.
