Larry Hauser graduated from Chicago State in 1971 with a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education and earned his Master's Degree in English in 1973. He was part of the Santa Clara Men’s Basketball coaching staff from 1983 to 1997. He worked with legendary coaches Carroll Williams and Dick Davey. While at SCU, Hauser helped lead the program to 4 NIT Tournaments, 5 WCC Tournament Championships, and 4 NCAA Tournament Appearances. He was a successful high school basketball coach in Illinois and California prior to coming to SCU. He recruited former NBA All-pro and two-time NBA MVP Steve Nash ’96. Hauser subsequently coached the men’s basketball team at California State University Dominguez Hills from 1997-2004. At Dominguez Hills Hauser developed 8 All-California Collegiate Athletes and two NCAA All-Region student-athletes while leading the program to a 2nd place league finish during his 1st season as head coach.
