Johnny Hanna was inducted into the Santa Clara Hall of Fame for his contributions to the University’s Football program. While a student at the University of Santa Clara he played fullback at the Varsity level for three years. The kid from Redding (CA), also played Varsity Baseball for the Broncos his sophomore through senior years. In left field and at bat, Hanna helped the baseball team to a number of big wins. After his career as an athlete Hanna, headed down the road to Bellarmine College Prep and had a successful career as coach for their football program. Hanna was inducted into Santa Clara’s Hall of Fame in 1965 for contributions to the Bronco Football Program and commitment to Jesuit education.
