Amr Zaky has been an Adjunct Lecturer in Santa Clara University since January 1998. His teachnig focus is on courses in the area of processor and chip architecture.
Dr. Zaky started his career as an Assistant Professor in the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA, where he did research on VLIW machines and parallel computing. In 1995, Dr. Zaky moved to the Silicon Valley to work as a System, Chip and CPU architect in different industrial powerhouses including Intel, Apple, Qualcomm and Broadcom. He has been teaching at SCU for almost all of his industrial career.
Dr. Zaky obtained his PhD from The Ohio State University in the area of Computer Science (with emphasis on Computer Architecture, Operating Systems, and Theory of Programming Languages). He obtained his Master's and Bachelor degrees from Univiersity of Alxandria in Egypt, where he majored in Computer Science and minored in Automatic Control theory.
