A Cut Above the Crest
The Orlando Pride, including Julie Doyle ’21, captured their first NWSL Championship. Along with Julie, 14 Bronco women’s soccer alumnae played in professional leagues this season, including seven on NWSL teams. Sounds like a net positive to us!
All Eyes on AI
This January, the Alumni Book Club will dive into its next reading period, coinciding with SCU’s 2024-25 Campus Community Read. Join students, faculty, staff, and your fellow alumni in exploring the rapidly evolving landscape of artificial intelligence with “AI: My Mission to Protect What is Human in a World of Machines” by Dr. Joy Buolamwini.
A Return to Tradition
La Virgen del Tepeyac is returning to SCU for its 23rd presentation! This prayerful celebration, not seen on campus since 2018, uses colorful indigenous garments, dance, and song to honor La Virgen, the patron saint of Mexico.

Faith Rewarded
This November, Santa Clara University hosted the 2024 Opus Prize Award Ceremony. The weeklong celebration highlighted efforts to create faith-filled change within the world. Francisca Ngozi Uti, H.H.C.J. took home the title of 2024 Opus Prize Laureate for her dedication to the equality of women in Nigeria.

Santa Clara University religious studies Associate Professor Ana María Pineda, R.S.M. has been honored with the inaugural Encuentros Award. The recognition goes to those who have made a lasting impact on the development of Hispanic/Latiné Catholic ministry at the national level. Congratulations, Dr. Pineda!
