3-Point Thursday
- Building Up Hopes: Fewer than 9% of U.S. engineers are Latinx, a statistic Jose Alvarez ’02 is dedicated to changing. A chance encounter with his next-door neighbor encouraged Jose to set his sights on a career in STEM instead of construction. Now working for Sutter Hospital, he promotes engineering careers to Latinx students.
- Cheers to 25 Years: The Pat Malley Fitness and Recreation Center—named for SCU Hall of Famer, Pat Malley ’53—is celebrating its silver jubilee! The center opened in October 1999 and has welcomed thousands of alumni, faculty, staff, and students to work up a sweat. Check out these images of the Malley Center through the years!
- Entrepreneurial Goals: Earlier this month, Bronco Venture Accelerator's 6th Annual Demo Day featured 24 innovative startups. The four alumnae founders of Bay FC—Brandi Chastain ’91, Leslie Osborne ’05, Danielle Slaton ’02, and Aly Wagner ’02—joined the festivities and were honored with the program’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
Go Broncos!
