A DAY IN THE LIFE: 6 Things to Complete your SCU Experience
Now that you’re familiar with campus, we challenge you to experience daily SCU life like a current student would. Add us on Snapchat and head over to the following spots on campus with your trusty smartphone and snap a pic to your story! Snap all 6 and come back to the Admission Office to claim your prize.
Check out the MOST photographed spot on campus —the Abby Sobrato Mall. Take your best shot at capturing the ambiance of campus with the fountain and Mission. Hint: It’s magical at sunset. |
Ever seen Monster’s, Inc., and wondered what that door retrieval system might look like in real life? Check out the ARS (Automated Retrieval System) in the Learning Commons (Library). The third floor gives the best vantage point! |
Grab a snack from Benson Memorial Center and head over to Santa Clara Mall. You can sit in the sun or under the shade of the palm trees. Either way, keep an eye out for squirrels—they are everywhere and quite fearless! |
Ever think you would be lying out in the sun while studying for your next midterm? Well, it’s the way of life at SCU. Check out the Mission Gardens aka “Mission Beach” where students hunker down to ace the next exam in the grassy, peaceful atmosphere. While you’re there, take a selfie of yourself stopping to smell the roses. | Venture over to the far side of campus to the new Edward M. Dowd Art and Art History building. It’s worth the walk, as a beautiful Chihuly glass sculpture hangs in the lobby for your viewing (and photo-op) pleasure. The lobby is open from 8 a.m.–9 p.m. Monday–Friday. | Try hot chocolate from around the world at the Cadence Cyber Cafe in Lucas Hall, home of SCU’s Leavey School of Business. The cafe is open from 7:30 a.m.–7:30 p.m. Monday–Thursday and from 7:30 a.m.–3:45 p.m. on Friday. |
