How to Upload Digital Credentials

Please note: you must be within the continental United States to be able to activate your digital credential.

If you already have a mobile credential, and have gotten a new phone, please see "Getting a New Phone?"

Please note: do not use Transact eAccounts' "Card Management" section unless you want to suspend your credential. Digital (mobile) credentials can only be set up using the instructions below.

To get started, you should first verify that your device meets these specifications:

Hardware/Software Requirements

Apple iOS
  • iPhone SE, iPhone 6s or later
  • iPhone iOS 15 or later
  • Apple Watch Series 1 or later
  • Apple Watch OS 5 or later
  • If both devices are used, they must be signed into the same iCloud account app
  • Transact eAccounts

Android OS:

  • NFC enabled devices capable of supporting Google Wallet
  • Android 7 or above
  • Google Pay application installed
  • Transact eAccounts

Setting Up Your Digital Credential on iPhone or Apple Watch

Complete the steps below.

  1. Enroll your mobile phone in DUO; instructions can be found here.
  2. Download the Transact eAccounts app from the App Store to your phone.
  3. Open eAccounts; scroll past the startup screens to Get Started.
  4. Search for Santa Clara University and click through to the SCU Portal login screen.
  5. Enter your SCU network login to authenticate your device.

When those steps are complete, please email access@scu.edu with your name and campus ID number.  We will respond during business hours with the final step.

Keep your credential updated:

A "Hotspot" is an online wall reader and access point that simultaneously pushes updates to your ACCESS card and grants entry to the door when you tap and hold your physical card or enrolled mobile device.

Hotspots are available on residence hall exterior doors, on select academic building doors, and there is one conveniently located outside the ACCESS Office. You must use a Hotspot at least once every 30 days to ensure your credential remains active with the most up-to-date access permissions.
