Environmental Ethics Fellows

Laura Perez

Laura Perez, a junior from Corona, California is majoring in history and minoring in the AIMES program; she plans on studying abroad next fall. Her fellowship centers around Pope Francis' recent encyclical Laudato Si', which discusses environmentalism, social justice, and the interplay between these issues. Laura enjoys reading (many genres), knitting, following the 2016 political campaign, and volunteering with the St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Santa Clara Animal Shelter.

Blair Libby

Blair Libby is a senior studying environmental science with a religious studies minor. He hails from San Luis Obispo, California, and enjoys trail running, playing drums, and activism for causes he believes in. For the past few years, he has interned with the Center for Sustainability and volunteered with BLEJIT, SCU's environmental justice organization. Through his Environmental Ethics Fellowship he hopes to promote the moral ecology lessons from Laudato Si' and create a more sustainable, socially just campus.

Jordan Webster

Jordan Webster is a senior majoring in environmental science and minoring in economics. He's lived in Concord, Massachusetts all of his life, but he's traveled across most of the United States while visiting national parks. He has a passion for environmental economics, and plans to utilize his studies to accurately assess the monetary value of both our resources, and the services that ecosystems provide us. His project is the Santa Clara University water calculator. He will be working with both the center of sustainability and the facilities department to compile an accurate calculator of water use on campus, for the use of both students and faculty.
