“Make sure you slow down a bit when you get to college!” I was told much too often told in high school. But my workaholic tendencies were stubborn and didn’t want to pay much attention there. Thankfully, SCU gave me the opportunities and resources to best put these tendencies to use. Paying my own way through college, I worked about 35-40 hours a week at Apple, while also tutoring and serving as a Community Facilitator in Graham Residence Hall during my time at SCU. I came in with a goal to finish undergrad early - 3 years was the initial timeline. With the help of my amazing advisor, mentor and professor, Professor Morlang, 3 years shrunk to 2.5, and then again to 2 ¼. I entered SCU Fall of 2014 and finished in Fall of 2016 with a Major in Political Science and Double Minor in International Business and Italian. Even though I was zooming through my bachelor’s degree, the Jesuit values that emphasized quality of education never made me feel like I was compromising my learning potential by shortening my timeline. I had the opportunity to also intern internationally the summer after my first year with an Italian event planning company in Milan and Paris - an experience I will never forget, and am very thankful for SCU for helping make it happen. I’ve now been working in the world of consulting at Accenture for the past couple of years, specializing primarily in the area of Retail and Digital Customer Experience Design, working with high profile technology and social media clients in the Silicon Valley.
