Handling media inquiries
Media Relations will handle all aspects of the media for you, including press releases, feature stories, and media contacts. We will act as a gatekeeper for the news media by:

Writing press releases and sending them to key media contacts via e-mail, faxes, and news wires. The press releases will also be posted on the SCU Web site.
- Handling media contacts and assisting you in scheduling, preparing, or training for media interviews. See Interview Tips to help you prepare for a media interview.
- Tracking media coverage, keeping files of press clippings, and making copies of radio and television interviews for your department or event.
- Evaluating media coverage of your department or event and following up with the editor or producer if necessary.
- Pitching feature story ideas to media and pitching faculty "experts" to media around breaking news events and trends. See Faculty Experts for a complete list of faculty contacts.
