Healthy Eating @ SCU

Presentation Time: One Hour

Here we explore how college students can have a balanced diet here on campus. In the beginning we take a look at the realistic nutrition facts with questions and real life examples. We then offer sample menus so the audience can see what a well balanced meal looks like. We end our program by taking a “virtual tour” of the places to eat in Benson. The presenters and audience brainstorm ways to create balanced nutritional menu items for each station.

Body Image & the Media

Presentation Time: One Hour

This program takes a hard look at what messages are being sent out by the media. With smart and witty commentary these stereotypes are taken apart bit by bit as we educate the audience to be informed consumers. Using real images and clips from the documentary "Killing us Softly" by Jean Kilbourne we look at the positive side of the media as well as the negative images that seem to saturate our society. We end our program by arming our audience with the tools to be aware of these messages.

Relationships @ SCU

Presentation Time: 45 min. – 1 hour

In this program students learn the difference between “healthy” and “unhealthy” relationships. We look at signs of trouble for self and others and how to get out of those relationships that do not benefit us. This program also looks at identifying what is important to look for in a partner and how you can effectively communicate with them for a strong, happy relationship.
