Guidelines for Advertisements on the SCU Web site
www.scu.edu Web guidelines on advertisements and company/business mentions online.
This set of guidelines applies to the scu.edu domain from the top tiers down to but not including personal faculty, staff, or student Web pages.
- The university does not accept paid advertisements anywhere within the www.scu.edu Web domain.
- The university does allow Web sites to acknowledge supporters and to make those company and business names, expressed as words, to be in the form of live links to their home pages. No logos or graphics for those companies or business are permitted.
- The university also allows links to other Web sites when those links are inside editorial copy that mentions the companies or businesses. No logos or graphics for those companies or businesses are permitted.
- The university also allows links to business and company sites when those links are for SCU contract vendors, and the copy and recommended vendor names exactly mirror references to them in current, related SCU printed materials. In these cases, Web text mentioning contract vendors must be set for annual automatic review and/or expiration so that the owner of that text can verify the current status of the vendor and contract.
SCU pages that do not conform to the guidelines should be referred to Ron Danielson, who will notify the page owners. Questions about how the guidelines affect a specific circumstance should be referred to Melissa Eckel.
