From Austen to Elvis: SCU Presents Music, Theater, and Dance

SCU Presents, Santa Clara University's performing arts program, will take audiences from 1950s Nashville to 19th century England this fall.

On Friday, Oct. 11, Travis LeDoyt will perform at the Louis B. Mayer Theatre on the Santa Clara University campus as part of the SCU Presents Visiting Artist Series. LeDoyt’s show, "Elvis the Early Years," recreates an Elvis concert from the 1950s, complete with an authentic Nashville band featuring bass, guitar, and drums. The show will be a highlight of Grand Reunion Weekend.

In November, Fred Tollini, S.J., professor of theatre and dance, will direct a performance of Jane Austen’s "Pride and Prejudice."

Other highlights this fall include faculty recitals by Hans Boepple and Teresa McCullough, both pianists and professors of music. Boepple, who made his debut with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra at age 10, will play Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition."
