Past speakers have included U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy on the inner workings of the Supreme Court; Thomas Friedman, a Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist for The New York Times, on globalization; author and social commentator Camille Paglia on modern education; Douglas Engelbart, inventor of the computer mouse, on technological innovation; and Maya Angelou, civil rights activist and former U.S. poet laureate, on literature, writing, and racism.
