My time at Santa Clara University began as a transfer student where I earned a BS in Sociology in 2005. In 2008 I graduated from San José State University with an MSW in Social Work. My love for academia, my passion for working with students who are striving to achieve their goal of a college degree, and the value of a Jesuit education is what has brought me back to SCU.
Alejandra helps freshmen and transfer students from the following territories: Maryland, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Utah, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and West Virginia. CA Counties: Northern and Southern Santa Clara.
1. How do you define a great application?
A great application demonstrates a well-rounded individual in the areas of academics, extracurricular activities, and service. In addition to what I like to call the "cherry on top," which is that little (or big) extra something that makes you memorable and stand out from the rest.
2. What inspires your work?
As an alumni of Santa Clara University, I am inspired and motivated by the unforgettable memories and experiences I had as an undergraduate, the picturesque campus I have the privilege of seeing every day, as well as the infinite possibilities that result from receiving an education.
3. What do you do in your spare time?
When I'm not at work or sleeping, you will find me doing one of the following: reading, shopping, or indoor rock climbing. I also love to travel. A personal goal of mine is to visit a new country every year.
4. What is your favorite song?
Always such a difficult question for me to answer. Unfortunately, I don't have just ONE favorite song. I love to dance, so anything with a good beat that gets people on the dance floor. You can't go wrong with some Beyonce or Lady Gaga!
