Admission Requirements
Each year the University accepts a limited number of transfer students. To be considered for transfer, students must complete the requirements below.
Required Courses for Transfer Students
Students wanting to transfer to Santa Clara must complete the following requirements. To be considered a competitive candidate, we recommend the minimum GPA noted for each school before transferring.- College of Arts and Sciences

- College-level mathematics (1 semester or 1 quarter)

- Calculus and analytic geometry (2 semesters or 2 quarters)
- Accounting (2 semesters or 3 quarters)
- Microeconomics and macroeconomics
- Minimum GPA 3.5
- English composition (2 semesters or 2 quarters)
- School of Engineering

- Chemistry (1 semester or 1 quarter)

Transferable Credits
- Minimum units required- 30 transferable semester units or 45 quarter units.
- Maximum units - 88 quarter units to the College of Arts and Sciences or the Leavey School of Business. The School of Engineering will grant credit for up to one-half of the degree requirements toward the major.
- What is Transferable - Generally, students receive credit for courses similar to courses offered at Santa Clara University. Transfer credit is not awarded for classes taken at technical or trade schools, colleges not regionally accredited, or from correspondence, external, or extension programs.
- Pass/ No Pass - Santa Clara does not award transfer credits for courses taken pass /no pass or credit /no credit. All transferable classes must be taken for a letter grade and students need to earn a C or better.
