Study politics in the U.S. and other nations, global relations, and theories to evaluate political life.
As a political science major at Santa Clara University, you will study U.S. politics, politics in other countries, relations between nations, and different theories that explain and evaluate the meaning and direction of political life. Political science is the study of power, leadership, rhetoric, bureaucracy, diplomacy, war, culture, justice, law, reform, and revolution. Faculty are especially concerned with addressing the important ethical questions raised in the study of politics and preparing students to play leadership roles in government, business, and other institutions. Interested students can also gain real-world experience by taking classes taught by political practitioners and participating in public service internships.
