    As a follow up to our other post on free stock photos, here are a few more sites where you can find images for your projects:

    • AP Images Database through the University Library provides access to a collection of over 500,000 photos from the Associated Press, featuring state, regional and national photos from North America, as well as international photos, some dating back as far as 1844. The content of the AP Photo Archives is licensed for non-commercial, educational use.
    • Creative Commons search allows you to find images that are licensed for you to share, remix, or reuse.
    • has thousands of royalty free photos and illustrations for websites, newspapers, magazines, video and TV productions, iPhone applications, PowerPoint presentations, forums, blogs and school work.
    • is a stock photo sharing website where designers and photographers can meet to share their images. All images on this site are free for personal and non-commercial usage.

    Here's a list of tips from Presentation Zen (, a great repository of techniques, insights, and inspiration for creating professional presentations. Be sure to check out the website for an explanation of each tip. These are things that designers do or know that everyone else can benefit from. They're broad and applicable to all sorts of work - not just presentations.

    The Web Publishing at Santa Clara University site is a good resource for anyone who creates or maintains an SCU website. You can find design resources, such as official color palettes; web publishing guidelines, including policy and how to write for the web; tips on using CommonSpot; and critical updates on CommonSpot upgrades or issues.
