Freeze Column or How Headings While Scrolling in Excel

Keep headers in place while you scroll through large amounts of Excel data by using the Freeze Pane feature.

  1. Position your cursor in the cell just below the row containing column titles, and to the right of the column containing the row titles. The cell you click on should have titles above and to the left of it.
  2. Go to Window > Freeze Pane. This will “freeze” the row and the column containing titles when you scroll down or to the right.
  3. To reset your view, go to Window > Unfreeze Pane.
